For Sales Engineers, I’ve seen a 70–30 split as a more common salary package. Also, I completely agree AMs always end up making more money than SEs but I don’t think they work longer hours than SEs. There are always exceptions to any rule. The typical salary range for SEs in Australia, Canada and US is between 150k – 250k per annum. The higher range is for exceptionally good sales engineers but it’s more common than you think it is.
